A few months back a burglary occurred resulting in the loss of some bronze animal statues from a residents garden along Burley Road. These items have recently been replaced and a further attempt to steal has happened again in the last week. This time, the statues had been secured to the ground, but the thieves were well prepared and used a saw to cut through the legs of the animal and they managed to transfer the heavy item over a fence to the road, obviously to collect at a later stage. Thanks to the keen eyes of a local resident it was spotted and the owners were advised and the item returned. With no specific facts we can advise a turquoise, small car with large exhaust was seen in the vicinity of the premises the evening prior to the robbery attempt and when they were approached they drove off quickly at speed in the direction of Bransgore, the exhaust is quite loud. This may have been incidental and this car may not be linked but please keep your eyes open for suspicious activities in and around the Village.
The WRA Committee try to keep a diary of local incidents so that we can refer these back to the Parish Council when we need action taken, especially regarding, thefts, speeding & accidents etc. The wall at the Fishermans Haunt has recently been knocked down. Can anyone provide any information on the incident, including times & dates so that we can record for future reference?
Please do email us you hear or know of anything that should be recorded to ensure the safety and security of our village is maintained.
